Rubric- Total: 50 pts

Length

15 pts- Each diary entry is approximately 1.5 pages, for a total of 3 pages.

7 pts- Each diary entry is approximately 1 page, for a total of 2 pages

5 pts- Each diary entry is less than 3/4 page, for a total of less than 1.5 pages

0 pts- Each diary entry is two sentences or fewer.

Content

20 pts- Diary entries mention 5 or more elements of Georgia colonial life (settlements, economy, individuals) that contribute to individual's success or failure.

15 pts- Diary entries mention 3 of the above elements

10 pts- Diary entries mention 2 of the above elements

0 pts- Diary entries mention 1 or no elements

Style

10 pts- Diary entries are provided in a clear, engaging narrative using first-person voice and descriptive language

7 pts- Diary entries are written in a primarily factual style, in first person voice, with limited use of descriptive language

5 pts- Diary entries are entirely factual information, in first person voice, with no descriptive terms

0 pts- Diary entries are a list of factual information, with no first-person voice or descriptive language.

Format

5 pts- Diary entries are clearly typed, double spaced in a clear font, with no typos or spelling/grammar errors

3 pts- Diary entries are clearly typed, double spaced in a clear font, with few errors

1 pt- Diary entries are typed, with errors but not so many as to be unreadable

0 pts- Diary entries are typed, but the number and degree of errors limit readability
